BUY ART is a program open to all galleries, artist-run sales, retailers and independent artists (residence or studio) located in the City of Providence. Please have a read through how our program works and email us to sign up, ask questions, or share your thoughts.

TWO WAYS TO QUALIFY

  • Are you a retail venue or independent artist that sells art? As we begin this program we are focusing on visual art (2D and 3D) and one-of-a-kind art objects. We would ask each retailer to think through what “art” they sell.
  • Are you an arts orginization that sells tickets to performances, classes, organization membership or original works to benefit your organization (i.e., silkscreen poster)?

WHY PARTICIPATE?

  • As we promote the notion of BUYING ART, we will attract people to our website through publications, window storefront signage, enewsletters and partnerships with our supporters.  To get listed send us your venue’s/artist website URL (those without a website can send their address, phone and a brief description, 50 words or less).

REQUEST YOUR I BUY ART BUTTONS

  • One of the most fun parts of our program is the limited edition “I BUY ART” buttons that we ask you to give to people who make an art purchase from you. In our initial year we got great feedback and excitement from the run of 15,000 buttons featuring the art of five local artists. As part of our sign-up we ask each venue/artist to estimate how many “I BUY ART” buttons you will need to cover your 2009 holiday art sales. Usually individual artists request 25-50 and stores/galleries may request up to 100 depending on the price point and the amount of art usually sold.
